The Central Highlands of Tasmania encompasses the iconic Cradle Mountain National Park, the pristine Lake St Clare National Park,  the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, the Great Lake, the Central Plateau, the Great Western Tiers as well as the townships of Bothwell, Miena, Tarraleah, Derwent Bridge and Poatina.  The highlands are renowned for scenic vistas, great bush walking and fishing and unspoilt alpine country.
